What is coached match play?

We firmly believe that all players can benefit from having professional coaching DURING matches. Throughout the afternoon sessions, we will do exactly that. This allows you to practice the skills learned in the morning sessions, as well as have someone critique your match play skills, which can vary a lot from your clinic performance.

 

Do I have to play in an ALTA league? 

No, not at all. A lot of the players will play in ALTA leagues, but this camp is open to any female campers. Those that are playing league tennis regularly will benefit most from the camp because the focus is on doubles strategies and tactics that have proven successful in league play.

 

Can I come by myself?

Yes, of course. We will have other ladies attend by themselves, as well as pairs and groups. The camp is very social. We assign courts so no one will feel left out.

 

How do you assign the courts?

We are able to and do mix courts during and between sessions. We assign courts based on abilities provided ahead of the camp, as well as from our own evaluations. We also take requests regarding court assignments. If you want to play with a specific partner please let us know, and we would be glad to set that up.

 

How do I get to Amelia Island?

Some campers will drive and others will fly. We are a 6 hour drive from Atlanta and a 30 mile drive from the Jacksonville airport.

 

Do I need a car whilst I am there?

Many campers will have a car, others choose to rent golf carts on the resort.We also provide a complimentary shuttle service on the resort grounds.
