Alumni Advice: Martha Davis

1.) Where are you from?

NW Suburb of Chicago 2.) What is your favorite shot and why?

Overhead, especially on a poach. I love the one-two punch of my partner setting me up for a put away. 3.) What's your favorite retreat location?

It’s almost impossible to pick as I LOVE THEM ALL! You can’t go wrong with any of them. But if forced to choose, I will have to say Miami as that was my first Ladies Retreat experience – the entire week was fun, fun, fun and I could not stop smiling the entire time. I was VERY sad when the week ended. 4.)What is your favorite retreat memory?

Again this is very hard to answer as there are so many to pick from, so I will name a few. In Miami I will always remember dancing the nights away and pulling an all-nighter in Brickell and South Beach. At La Costa I loved the hot tub pizza dance party and party crashing the President’s Circle event with prop photo booth pictures to prove it! And I have never laughed so hard than at Amelia Island watching the video of the Pros dealing with the dreaded ‘r’ word – no stinking rain was going to affect our good time, the Pros made sure of that! 5.)What is your sage advice for Retreat Rookies?

Expect to work hard and play harder... and then follow it up with R&R at the pool or beach! The Retreats are a great blend of tennis instruction/match play and post-tennis festivities. If you want to work on a specific aspect of your game, don’t be shy – ANY pro is happy to oblige with 1-on-1 assistance. Each and every pro is AMAZING and your game will improve if you want to put in the work. If you are looking to enjoy yourself on vacation, you will not be disappointed. The draft night, costume night, and awards dinner are super fun and a great opportunity to get to know the Pros and fellow retreaters off the courts. 6.)Parting Words?

Book your next Ladies Retreat RIGHT NOW! Whether it is a repeat location or a new location for you, you will not regret it!
